It's me! Jimpan1973. jimpan1973.deviantart.com/ I opened a new account. This will be used to show things I'm working on, fun things I find, params and fractals that I don't think belong in my other gallery. Most of the images here are not supposed to be artistic but more for educational purose. My fractals here will probably not even have a proper title. Many of them will be in black and white. That's how I mostly work.

--- Rendering in Ultra Fractal ---
How I get a sharp and detailed render in UF. I render without anti-aliasing. I render 4x as big on each side as i want the final image. For instance I render 15360 pix at the longest side. Then I resize each side by 4 in Photoshop (3840 pix on the longest side). If you don't have PS you can use Gimp too. Then I sharpen it just a little. And I always save as .png file. Try this and you will get a good and sharp image.

Hi Jimmie, I read with interest how you render your images and wondered if you could help me. I'm currently reworking an image for my niece for her new house (not quite finished yet...the image that is) She has told me she wants it to measure 32 inches square which I've never done before. I have an Epson A3 printer which I'm perfectly comfortable with, but have a friend organising the bigger print for me. So, do you think your method would still work when the image is going to be quite as large? Also, what resolution do you use and is there a reason for saving as a .png file?

I don't have so much experience from printing. But I think that 6000-7000 pix on the longest size would make it good. And you don't need to reander with anti-aliasing when printing. The printing process usually makes that for you.
The resolution I use is 720. And I use .png format to preserve most details. .jpg can easily get artefacts that ruinds details.
